The people behind the track

What started life as a crazy golf pitch has been transformed into something pretty special — one of the UK’s best radio controlled buggy tracks.

But tracks don’t build themselves.

Behind every jump, berm, corner and straight is a team of people who have poured in countless hours, plenty of sweat, a fair bit of mud and more than a few cups of tea (and probably the occasional swear word!) to make it happen.

From shaping the layout and moving mountains of earth, to building features, fixing, tweaking, testing and endlessly improving the track, it’s been a proper team effort.

It’s been hard graft

Turning an old crazy golf pitch into a serious RC buggy track was never going to be a quick or easy job.

There have been long days, late nights, aching backs and plenty of moments where we’ve looked at what still needed doing and wondered what on earth we’d taken on.

But that’s what makes the finished track so rewarding.

Every part of it has had someone’s hands on it. Every jump has been shaped, every corner tweaked and every section driven, tested and changed until we were happy with it.

And when you see the buggies flying over the jumps, battling through the corners and racing wheel-to-wheel, you know all that hard work was worth it.

A proper team effort

There isn’t one person who can take the credit for what the track has become.

It’s been the result of all the guys and gals putting their time, skills and enthusiasm into making it better — whether they’ve been on the tools, behind the wheel, moving dirt, building, repairing, organising or simply pitching in wherever they were needed.

Some of the work is obvious when you visit.

Some of it isn’t.

The hours spent preparing the surface, maintaining the track, repairing damage, keeping everything running and making improvements behind the scenes are just as important as the big, exciting bits.

From crazy golf to RC racing

Looking back at where we started, it’s pretty mad to see how far we’ve come.

What was once a crazy golf pitch is now a purpose-built playground for radio controlled buggy racing — designed to challenge experienced drivers while still being a whole lot of fun for anyone who loves RC.

And we’re not finished yet.

There are always ideas for the next improvement, another feature to build, a corner to tweak or something new to try.

That’s part of the fun.

We might not always look glamorous after a day working on the track, but we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created together.
